I have replaced this part on my 11-87 but still have the problem of it not staying in the tube with the spring. The link gets jammed into the stock and won’t let the action move. Is there a remedy for this?

Read this. If you don't feel confident in your abilities to do the work, take it to a gunsmith. I've never heard any complaints like this... http://ccskeet.com/1100.html Let me know if this helps

I have access to some parts, however the 1187 is out of production, and 1100's are stalled. Rem-Arms promised to have 1100 Sporting models available this past summer.... NOT!
The link should be inspected. The ends should have a tweak in them to hold it inside the action spring tube plunger. That plunger may have been damaged and should be inspected and or replaced.
Clean per previous instructions... CLEAN is good.
