Remington model 11 12ga SKEET

This beauty is a 1935 model 11 Sportsman. The Sportsman having the distinction of holding only three shells. This was obvious to Game Wardens using binoculars and these hunters wouldn't be bothered with checks for magazine tube plugs. It's original configuration was a 30" FULL choke. Obviously a Goose or Duck hunter. I don't hunt and the full choke barrel was bothering me. I considered having it fitted for screw in chokes, but first looked around for a IMP-CYL or SKEET choked barrel. In a stroke of luck I found 26" Vent Rib SKEET barrel on eBay. Including tax and shipping it came to $353. Not bad considering it's rarity.

I had considered having it re-blued. However will let that go for now. Stock will be stripped and steamed then a nice boiled linseed oil finish.
